We’re a small mountain town flanked by National Forest and BLM lands as far as the eye can see in almost every direction. The folks who manage these lands are locals just like us with a huge job to do – and you can help.

We believe that tourism can directly support conservation efforts and Big Mountain Heli Tours partners with local NGOs who are on the front lines of our incredible wildlands. From maintaining trail systems to setting aside new lands for future generations these local nonprofits are making Central Oregon a better, more vibrant place to live and play.

We donate helicopter flights to local charities and help the Deschutes National Forest when they call on us for everything from wildfire fighting helicopters and equipment to staff lifts into remote locations. Our operations partner, Leading Edge Aviation, currently provides contract charter and on demand charter helicopter services for The State of Oregon, State of Oregon Dept. of Forestry,  Oregon State Fish and Wildlife Service, Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office, Deschutes County Search and Rescue, City of Bend and City of Redmond and Jefferson and Crook County. Leading Edge also provided services for US Department of Agriculture (USFS) Department of Interior (Bureau of Land Management) US Fish & Wildlife, USGS and Department of Defense.

A nominal $5 helicopter flight fee per person goes directly to helping our NGO community keep Central Oregon beautiful. Additionally, we match each and every donation so we can all give back to the places we love.

Our National Forests and BLM lands are local treasures that we are responsible for preserving for future generations. Your participation in our helicopter tours ensures that we’ll enjoy the same stunning snow capped ranges, deep rivers, and pristine lakes that previous generations have enjoyed, now and well into the future.

Help us keep our Central Oregon playground pristine.
