Bend’s trendy Box Factory will soon welcome a new “comfortable neighborhood saloon” in the form of River Pig Saloon, taking over the former gym space across from Bend’s Market of Choice – and we’re thrilled!.
River Pig Saloon #2
In Portland, River Pig Saloon opened in one of the more industrial-looking corners of the neighborhood in March, ot was named for the log drivers who once prodded old-growth timber down the Willamette, the joint affects a Springsteen-ballad vibe while serving fine bourbon and heaping plates of pub grub.
Killian Pacific of Vancouver, Washington, brought the Portland-based sports bar River Pig Saloon, a Bend bakery and a healthy bowls-style eatery to occupy 7,000 square feet of space along Arizona Avenue that was previously home to Oregon CrossFit, development manager Jeremy McPherson said last month.
River Pig, which is already advertising the addition of its Bend location, plans to open in late August, according to a recent post on the bar’s Facebook page. The other new tenant is Fix & Repeat, a first-time restaurant, McPherson said.
